Associate Attorney
  • de Maar Law
  • 9 Lake Bellevue Dr. Suite 103 Bellevue, WA 98005

In the first year of law school, Kristin watched someone very close go through a painful divorce. While learning the law and the policies behind it, she was also seeing the effect those laws have on a person’s life and loved ones. Now as a family law attorney, she approaches clients with compassion and kindness. She will always take the time to explain the legal process and the law, including how it will influence their life. In each matter, Kristin strives to build the strongest position the law permits while remaining open and honest with her clients about the strengths and weaknesses of their case, always remembering that the case is, in fact, their life.

Kristin joined de Maar Law as an associate attorney in 2015. In addition to her comprehensive family law practice, she has established an Alcoholic Beverage Law practice, assisting local distributors and suppliers with various issues that arise in the industry, whether defending against violations of statutory protections or negotiating contracts.

Kristin was admitted to the Washington State Bar after obtaining her Juris Doctor form Seattle University School of Law in 2015. While in law school, Kristin interned for the Racial Disparity Project and the ACLU of Washington, where she gained experience in defending civil rights through criminal law, civil legal proceedings, the legislative process, and even the collective bargaining process in public interest labor law. Prior to law school, Kristin was a legal professional for 10 years, working in various practice areas, including personal injury, criminal defense and construction contracts & lien law.
